Anticipated Status (A): the candidate is completing the diploma requirements next year and is taking one or two standard level subjects this year.
Courses (C): the candidate is registering for individual subjects and is not entering for the diploma.
Collusion: supporting the malpractice by another candidate, as in allowing one’s work to be copied or submitted for assessment by another.
Diploma Status (D): the candidate is completing the diploma this session.
Duplication of Work: the presentation of the same work for different assessment components and/or diploma requirements.
External Assessment: (EA): assessment administered at the completion of a course, designed by IBO and graded externally.
Extra Certificate (E): the candidate is in the diploma (D), anticipated (A) or retake (R) category and is registering for an additional subject at either higher or standard level.
Higher Level (HL): a course involving 240 hours of teaching time over two years
Internal Assessment (IA): student work that is internally assessed by the teacher and externally moderated by the IBO
Invigilator: term used to indicate the person responsible for supervising an examination; proctor or supervisor
Plagiarism: the representation of the ideas or work of another person as the candidate’s own
Predicted Grades (PG): the teacher’s prediction of the grade the candidate is expected to achieve in the subject based on all the evidence of a candidate’s work and the teacher’s knowledge of IBO standards
Retake Status (R): the candidate is retaking one or more subjects and must have been in the diploma (D) or retake category in his/her previous session.
